Description The H 250 flowmeter for
liquids and gases is an all-metal flowmeter which operates on
the float principle. |
Depending on the flowrate, the float
will assume a certain vertical position in the tube. The float
position is transmitted by a magnetic coupling system to the
scale. The flowmeter is designed for installation in a
vertical pipe run with flow from bottom to top. The rugged
construction of the H 250 variable-area flowmeter makes it
particularly suitable for difficult application and
environmental conditions. The H 250 flowmeter can be equipped
with either the M9 or the M10 indicator.
In the M9
indicator, the rotational movement of the follower magnet
system is transmitted to the indicator without being
linearized and the flowrate value is indicated
directly on the scale.

Modular, all-metal flowmeter for liquid and gas
measurement in all sectors of industry
A module rack in the M9 indicator accommodates all
electrical components and also the scale plate.
The modules of the ESK II, ESK-Z, K1 or K2 electrical
options and the scale plate are simply plugged into the
module rack.
The modules can be replaced or retrofitted without
interrupting the process.

Various
materials and different liners are available for the measuring
section.
Should process temperatures exceed the
max. allowable temperatures for the standard version,
the indicator can be subsequently fitted with an adapter
to suit the new operating conditions. The flowmeter
can be initially equipped or retrofitted with magnetic filters
and/or a float damper.
Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
Type: H 250/M9/ESK II
conforms with the requirements of Directive 89/336/EEC and the
following European Standards:
EN 61326-1+A1+A2
and also the requirements of the NAMUR Recommendation NE 21/98.
"Ex" version
The H 250 variable-area flowmeter with M9 and M7 indicators is
certified for use in hazardous areas by the Physikalisch-Technische
Bundesanstalt in versions EEx ia IIC T6…T3 and EEx ib IIC T6…T3.

Electrical signal
output ESK Electrical signal output ESK for ESK II for
the M9 indicator can be built into the indicator sections.
This supplies a load-independent current of 4 to 20 mA in
two-wire connection that is proportional to the instantaneous
flowrate. With an intrinsically safe feed unit, the
transmitter may also be used in hazardous areas.
Conversion of the ESK II to other products or measuring
ranges can be carried out by using a HART® communicator.
Flow totalizer ESK-Z The ESK-Z totalizer in
conjunction with the ESK electrical current output can be
installed in the indicator section M9. A 6-digit LED display
indicates the total flow value and is switch-selectable to the
current % flow value. Data save: counts are saved in
the event of a power failure. Power supply. 16 to 30 V DC,
powered by 3-wire circuit. (Suitable for non-hazardous
areas).
Magnetic filter
Should the fluid contain ferromagnetic particles, a magnetic
filter must be installed upstream of the flowmeter. The filter
contains bar magnets in helical arrangement for optimum efficiency
at minimal pressure losses. All magnets are coated with PTFE as
protection against corrosion.
Two types are available:
Type F Flange adapter, for all

FS
Adapter without flange for all meter sizes, overall length 50 mm
(1.97") material 1.4571 (316 Ti) and others
Damping device (also available as retrofit kit)
For unstable flows or low operating (inlet) pressures, particularly
with gaseous products, the measuring section can be fitted with a
float damping device.
This device is self-locating, and its working parts are made of
high-tech ceramics to ensure a long service life.
