Fowardscatter sensor: DF 20
|
The forwardscatter sensor DF20 is a sensor for visibility
measurements. It is used for synoptical, harbours and
airports meteorology. It consists of a light source and a
receiver placed off axis from the source. The intersection
of the source's and receiver's visual fields defines the
analysis volume. The particles suspended in this volume
scatter the light in all directions. The extinction
coefficient is calculated using the flux measurement of the
forward- |
 |
scattered light and then the Meteorological Optical Range (MOR) is
computed.
Functions:
Acquisition:
Every second, the energy diffused by the atmosphere is measured
using a photodiode and a 12 bits converter.
Dataprocessing :
Elimination of erroneous data (median). Normalisation with
respect to the measured emitted flux. Analysis of the derivative and
the standard deviation to eliminate sudden variations of the
atmospheric extinction coefficient. 1 to 10 minutes sliding mean of
the valid data.
Measurement validation after control of the following elements :
Power supply voltage, lamp voltage, lamp consumption, optical
head temperature, emitted light flux, dust contamination.
|
Bi-directional data transmission :
• Local area, point to point: RS 232
• Large area, point to point (CIBUS(1) standard): FSK
• Large area, multipoint: RS 485 |

Runway visual range measurement : Transmissometer V06 1580 A 0000
Applications:
|
By direct measurement of light transmission in air, of the
ambient luminance and the beacon intensity, valuesthe runway
visual range (RVR) can be calculated using the Koeshmider
and Allard equations. Those basic measurements are made by
transmissometer and luminancemeter sensors associated with a
beacon intensity sensor. The system is designed for use in
aviation meteorology. |
 |
Functions:
Acquisition of meteorological data and beacon intensity value
through luminancemeter, transmissometer and beacon intensity
transmitter.
Data transmission to the concentrating station (AURIA and MIRIA
types) under analog form or digital form to the CIBUS(1) exchange.
Transmission with lightning protection.
Placement of the beacon intensity transmitter :
• In a remote box adapted to the control desk configuration for long
distance transmission to the concentrating station.
• As an electronic board to be integrated into the concentrating
station for short distance transmission.
Raingauge : R01 3060
Applications:
|
Rain measurement is a basic data in climatology and numerous
of related fields such as: flood prevention, draining
networks, hydrology,…
Functions:
Rain measurement is carried through a tipping bucket
raingauge enabling the remote measurement of rainfalls
collected on the ground.
The height of cumulated rainfall by m² is then calculated.
Once melted the water due to solid precipitation such as
snow or hail is also measured. |
